I remember when these were released, the posters and flats were EVERYWHERE, lolShoutout to @PVDUBBER for this spectacular PIF!
(I know this picture is awful but I tried to take it like seven times and this was the best I could get it, so deal with it lol)

I agree Ace's is the best, but Paul's isn't too bad either. Peter's is embarassing, but for the style he was going for, I can't say he completely failed. Gene's is a fucking mess though lol I have no idea what he was going for; at least with Peter had some sort of clear direction for his album, which I can't say for Gene.Ace’s is by far the best and Crist’s is easily the worst the Stanley’s and Simmons are meh at best.
Regardless, the art is fucking rad and it’s always good from an OCD standpoint to complete a set.
My favourite tone poet releasealso got Cornbread in the same parcel, just incase you have any doubts

YES! This. The Kit Sebastian record is brilliant. I feel like there should be more buzz about this one than it is getting. It’s feels like a rare find World/Tropicalia from the early 1970’s. Everyone should drop everything make some rum based cocktails then drink said cocktails while listening to this album.I love that Kit Sebastian record! One of the coolest things I've heard this year.
You've piqued my interest. My rum cocktail is rum and coke. It's what I have and I'm trying to keep in the spirit!YES! This. The Kit Sebastian record is brilliant. Grant Green - Grants First Stand (Blue Note BN80 2019)
Freddie Hubbard - Open Sesame (Blue Note BN80 2019)
Even though I didn’t tell her specifically, these are the 2 I was most looking forward to!! Grant Green is a masterful guitar player, I have a copybook of ‘Grantstand’ that I regularly play so looking forward to spinning this one!
Verve: The Sound Of America
Very similar to the Blue Note Uncompromising Expression book, this focuses on the history of Verve with some fantastic photos included.
Open Sky: Sonny Rollins and his World of Improvisation- Eric Nisenson
Looks to be a great book, with a forward by Rollins himself where he states that Nisenson did a fantastic job of breaking down Rollins life story.
Coltrane: A Story Of Sound - Ben Ratliff
I’m a third of the way in so far and it’s a superb book. Ratliff focuses on the history of coltranes recording so over his personal life (although that does play a minor part in the book).

Plus I had a package arrive that I have been super super excited for.
John Coltrane - Blue Train (Blue Note 1957 Original Mono pressing)
This is a legendary album and Coltranes first and only recording for Blue Note. He has a stellar line up for this, with lee Morgan killing in on the trumpet. Coltrane actually wrote all 4 of the compositions as well.

I had this on cd...good times in high schoolI really love this song. I love Kashmir too but I dunno why I like it when I hear Sean Combs shout a lot of sh!t over a track. It could also be that nostalgia is a hell of a drug and this serves good memories for 12 year old me. I hate Matthew Broderick apart from in Ferris Bueller so the movie has always been a negative for me
