Hip Hop

cool we have very similar hobbies i also collect all kinds of physical media movies & music and collect power ranger action figures and zords.do you know what ever happened with that SIC records Koopsta Knicca release was that suppose to have been release a while back?

Nice! I collect Marvel Legends and 4k Steelbook movies as well. I love me some Dolby Vision in my movies! Lol and nothing like a good steelbook with some dope artwork. I did an interview with him not too long ago here https://derrickmarcus.com/f/kevinthecreep-interview-sic-records the Koopsta Knicca is still going down. Just not sure when preorders will go up. I assume we’ll know more by August/September.

Edit: I also collect blaxploitation movies

I just got a shipping notice for Statue of Limitations.. which arrived months ago lol

Same here. VMP also keeps sending me the RHH records without charging me. A while back I requested a partial refund for a record that never showed up and instead they refunded me an entire 3 month sub and ever since they keep sending me the monthly record and I have yet to be charged.

Cancel, dispute, whatever you need to do... and there's a pre-order for it up here
Smoke Dza Limited Edition Cerulean Marble 'Prestige Worldwide' 12" Vinyl (PREORDER)
if you want to give it another shot.... i never got mine but was refunded through a paypal dispute
thanks for the heads up. I had sent an email earlier asking for some kind of status, but followed that up for a refund so I can buy it from the link you provided.

not that I think they're going to give me one with how this debacle has been going. I don't care what the fuck it is, I'm not buying shit again from DZA's Bandcamp.

Ive never been denied a refund after opening a Paypal dispute. Opening up a dispute might get you a response and if not, just escalate it and wait. Just make sure to get on it before it’s not covered by PayPal protection anymore

If they actually send me this extra copy and it wasn’t a mistaken email, you can have my extra for free

Yeah, I was actually outside today getting a little delightful sunshine and I barely missed that release too. It's crazy 1500 copies went that quick but at this point im completely over being a VMP member as a benefit and haven't been one for awhile. Hopefully another variant pops up because I have zero interest in those secondary market prices.

are you talking about Statue of Limitations? if so that's an amazing offer but I already have a copy of that. I'm waiting on my Prestige Worldwide from DZA's Bandcamp

You have people "selling" records on ebay or discogs to fake accounts, never paying up and having the value go up when people see it sell for that much.

That's a dumb move then, because ebay takes a cut of even a fake sale. If that's true, you're just giving them money

as somebody who is very familiar with sneaker culture as i've been collecting sneakers way before i started collecting vinyl.i don't believe bots have hit the vinyl online market just yet.as when bots are involved speaking as far as sneakers go, highly sought out kicks that are manufactured in quantities in the hundred thousands bots are able to help make sneaker releases sell out almost instantly.sadly as i see vinyl culture becomes more popular i see the possibility of that happening in the very near future if not already in the works from bot creators. :(
Wow, I’ve never heard about this but it seems just like the next matching step...

What really shocked me even more is the bragging about how many shoes of the recent drop a person has secured and bypassing the customer limit by using proxies, different payment methods, differences in shipping address, etc.

I just don’t want to go there and if the vinyl game should be captured by these type of people, I’ll just go back to black - luckily most of the records are readily available on "unlimited" black pressing.
And in the end it’s about the music and the culture. Not necessarily the culture WSG is talking about because I can’t take him seriously anymore - but still loving his musical output.

Oh and by they way (because I've been listening to it all weekend): Shrines is such a great record. I didn’t expect anything less, but always love when expectations are surpassed!
Yea I may get the instrumental version but a diff color and cover won’t justify the $50 plus shipping price tag.

I used to be a sneaker head. I was in it before there were long lines and online raffles etc. It got so big that it turned me off. Bots def killed the sneaker game for me. Lost all love for it. Turned my hobby to vinyl, cassette and action figures. Now I’m seeing the same thing happen with vinyl and it sucks. People who don’t really love it just coming in and buying up all the exclusive variants. But yea this def the new sneaker game.

The only advantage of the vinyl game vs the sneaker game is you have to be up on the music releases before they drop, whereas with sneakers it's just any hyped limited Nike/Adidas/Jordan/New Balance Collab that is gonna get completely botted to bits. Absolute worst case scenario is I see specific labels (Daupe for example) getting botted for releases but the reality is most of the records that gain a ton of value are small pressings from artists that later go on to be very popular, or limited pressings from big artists where the demand does actually exceed the supply, which is a complete crapshoot. With sneakers you can just use bots to buy every Jordan, Yeezy and Off-White Nike and you'll make a ton of cash, with records that's ultimately not as straightforward
