vinyl aswell! damn!
Agree with this. Conway somehow shot to the top overnight with his mainstream sound. I was Team Benny all the way because I felt his stuff was the most accessible but now I fear he's in danger of blending in with his surroundings too much.I'm surprised he executed a "mainstream" sounding album better than Benny did.
I'm finishing up the Benny album right now and I really enjoyed it. it's not going to be an everlasting all-time great album, but every damn song is super solid and just sounds refreshing in a much better way than Plugs I Met did. What'd you all think of the Benny album? I feel like I say this on every Griselda drop recently but while I always find I need to let Griselda releases marinate a bit I wasn't too hot on this one. It wasn't bad at all, like a solid 6/10 but I thought Benny was kinda lost in some of the busier beats like Over The Limit, while Conway's definitely my favourite out of the crew I'm surprised he executed a "mainstream" sounding album better than Benny did. The Freddie, Ross and Griselda posse cut tunes are all great, along with Sly Green & Famous. The whole project is kinda reminiscent of the early 10's to me and I think that's both a good and a bad thing

I agree it's easily his second best behind TT3 for me and on the right day could be number 1... surprised to see people rate this new project higher than it!The disrespect Plugs I Met gets on this forum always baffles me.
Man, I fucked up that Muggs drop. Had it in my phone as 11am Friday.
And really the only reason I put TT3 ahead of it is because 3 is a full album. Plugs is a perfect Ep and one of the best Griselda releasesI agree it's easily his second best behind TT3 for me and on the right day could be number 1... surprised to see people rate this new project higher than it!
Gimme Plugs all dayAnd really the only reason I put TT3 ahead of it is because 3 is a full album. Plugs is a perfect Ep and one of the best Griselda releases
not sure if this is at all directed at me because of what I said. I don't think I disrespected it by saying that I found Burden more refreshing than Plugs, I like Plugs I Met but I might like this new one more. The disrespect Plugs I Met gets on this forum always baffles me.
Agreed. I have a soft spot for this album. The disrespect Plugs I Met gets on this forum always baffles me.
Not directed at you directly, but your comment .ight have sparked it. I have seen multiple people in this thread talk down on Plugs in the past and i just dont get it. I really don't care either way, tastes being tastes and all, just find it interesting.not sure if this is at all directed at me because of what I said. Westside Gunn's formula is grabbing a beat that has 2 strokes of a piano every few seconds and start each verse with "ayo" followed by stretching out his words in his high pitched tone.Agreed. I have a soft spot for this album.
It was my formal introduction to Griselda, and even though it deviates a bit from their “formula,” it very quickly jumped to one of my top hip hop releases of the year.
And I don’t know if I’m in the minority, but the Pusha T feature on it was one of my favorite verses of the year. And Blackthought was perfection, as always.
I don't mind Sunday School and 5 to 50 but the rest just never really clicked with me. Didn't love the production and I didn't love the features. I'd say the "few" here who don't hold it at the highest regard are in the minority overall. Not directed at you directly, but your comment .ight have sparked it.
