New Hot Take: 2021 is a spectacularly "meh" year for music.
Here's another 1/2 baked idea/Hot take: The modern Alt/Indie Female Singer/Songwriter sound is the Hair Metal of today.
The question is who is going to end up being the Warrant in this scenario?
Van Halen

The power of procrastination is very strong. This take is so thorough it can’t be qualified at hot.

Probably should have been Haley Williams, but I like her new solo stuff enough not to stick her with that obvious comparison. I went with Whitesnake b/c of Coverdale’s early band (Deep Purple) and subsequent solo career and reinvention with Whitesnake (Kind of like Paramore on After Laughter).Who is Stryper?
LOL, Something about Phoebe just grinds your gears doesn’t it?Hot take: these Phoebe Bridgers "features" where she just provides faint background vocals on the chorus is not a "collaboration" or worthy of a feature tag.

Yes lolIs this about the Killers song?
Probably because I am likely at least 10 years old than you I would tend to disagree. Cage The Elephant have never done anything for me and while I can’t say that Brandon Flowers and Co. are still releasing headlining worthy (though better than I had expected) albums, I still much prefer anything off of Hot Fuss or Sam’s Town to every CTE song l’ve ever heard. For the record, I don’t necessarily even dislike Cage The Elephant, They just fail to elicit much emotion from me either way.Idk how hot of a take this is but I couldnt help thinking about it last night
Cage the Elephant > The Killers in every conceivable way and should really take over their headlining spots at festivals
I've seen Cage live a couple of times and they were great. They really put on a good show. That being said, they are not bigger or better than the Killers hence why they do not have the headlining gig at festivals.Idk how hot of a take this is but I couldnt help thinking about it last night

I think Brandon Flowers and Co. are still very much headlining material even if their latter releases are not on par with their debut and sophomore albums necessarily. They have the stage presence, and enough hit singles to get an entire arena or stadium going. Plus Brandon knows how to command a crowd. They are still a big draw in a lot of countries and very much relevant today.Probably because I am likely at least 10 years old than you I would tend to disagree. I don’t doubt any of these points. Weezer and Foo Fighters still packs them in too. I guess it depends on the festival. My point was more that The Killers are more relevant to people my age than they would be for people 5 to 10 years younger than I. That is fine. I would rather see The Killers play a greatest hits State Fair type set than a set of mostly new music.I think Brandon Flowers and Co. are still very much headlining material even if their latter releases are not on par with their debut and sophomore albums necessarily. As we are roughly the same age I would have to agree with that.I don’t doubt any of these points. Weezer and Foo Fighters still packs them in too. I guess it depends on the festival.
