I can see shades of Deceit in their work for sure, and yeah I kinda forgot about Bauhaus for a second there lol, whoops. But I'd still put Bauhaus and Joy Division influences over This Heat for them - at least, that's just what I hear when I listen to them, I have no clue what their actual influences were of course. I guess I'm just salty because there's a bevy of underrated post-punk bands that deserve to be ripped off just as much as Joy Division has

I don't disagree that VU were important, but I honestly only like one of their albums, maybe two.

I agree but those two were highly influential and some of the first albums to openly talk about mature subject matter without euphemisms

That's why I agree with alot of Buddhist dogma, transcending suffering and bettering yourself and the world at large is the way to go
