I held off tracking down copies of both when I heard about this release, it was on my list and the last two Radiohead albums I needed in my collection. I easily found copies of Amnesiac I was going to pull the trigger on before I heard, Kid A was a bit more difficult, so it was a no brainer for me to hold off until I could get both. Some regret here. One thing I keep thinking about is how W.A.S.T.E.-ful it is to keep putting out such garbage vinyl pressings. I’m sure many of us who ordered Kid A mnesia already owned copies of it on vinyl and will likely now also be seeking additional copies. It’s not the most environmentally friendly format to begin with, and if people consistently have to get replacements or buy multiple copies just to find a decent one, it’s just kind of gross.

Wow!
This Pulk Pull/True Love Waits is bonkers. It's great. Wondering if this was the first version of True Love Waits to ever be recorded.

Dont think I'm going to pick up a copy of KID A MNESIA. Already have the records and dont desperately need the bonus tracks. I've checked them on Spotify.
I'm glad to see Follow Me Around on it and the version of Like Spinning Plates is great (although it sounds like a mashup of the studio version and the I Might Be Wrong one. I had a feeling there wasn't going to be a lot of new B-sides - alot of it sounds like mashups and pieces from existing songs. If they included the original Amnesiac B-sides, i'd grab it in an instant.
They aren’t too expensive to buyI was hoping for the B-sides, hopefully they will release that and In Rainbows Disk 2 on vinyl eventually
It is possible for a lot of people to have issues while others, like yourself, are satisfied. With that perspective, it makes it easy to understand the hate even if that's not your experience. Records don't have a uniform experience.I genuinely don’t get the hate on this Kid Amenesia red 3LP. Just spun all of it and had zero issues. Not off centered, no distortion, no skips, nothing. It sounded great. I had some not so good 10” versions of both that never quite sounded great. To me, this set is an obvious improvement. Maybe I’m crazy. Maybe.
Maybe you’re lucky? I think people are disappointed more than hating. My copy is off center and had jagged edges, and a bit of distortion but beyond that it sounds fine, if not spectacular. That being said, I think the lack of QC from United on this reissue is real and a lot of people who had high hopes ended up fairly disappointed. Glad you gotta a good copy though.I genuinely don’t get the hate on this Kid Amenesia red 3LP. Just spun all of it and had zero issues. Not off centered, no distortion, no skips, nothing. Yeah, this. I’m VERY forgiving when it comes to noisy records, slight warps, etc etc but this set is probably the worst thing I own.Maybe you’re lucky? Wanna come hear my copy and judge for yourself? I have some fizzy-distortion on Thom’s vocals for HTDC. Glad your copy is fine though.I genuinely don’t get the hate on this Kid Amenesia red 3LP. That new press of Nevermind sounds fantastic on my modest system. Makes me want to slam my head through a wall, which was its intention lol. I truly don't understand how people are so upset on Discogs. The discussions regarding KID A MNESIA and Nevermind have me thinking about how the vinyl community reacts to reissues of highly regarded albums. With Nevermind you have what appears to be a seemingly decent reissue with a very vocal audiophile minority shitting on the pressing for what appears to slightly inferior remaster/recut while with KID A you have decent remaster with major QC issues effecting large swathes of the pressed albums but if you look at the online “noise” generated by both in the vinyl collecting community you would, at least initially; think both were equally disappointing, when in fact one is much worse than the other.
TL;DR: Record collecting is a strange hobbies practiced by weirdos.
Yup, I always find (Discogs) reviews interesting....if you get people (a minority or majority) vocalizing issues then you get that person who (purportedly) received a good copy challenging others' expectations for vinyl or what systems they're using or what their vinyl habits are (do they clean, etc). Or, on the other hand, a pressing that has mostly amazing reviews but that one person who has a crap copy so it MUST be a crap pressing outright according to them. We are a bunch of weirdos, for sure. The discussions regarding KID A MNESIA and Nevermind have me thinking about how the vinyl community reacts to reissues of highly regarded albums.
