Ended up redoing basically the whole setup. Haven’t switched rooms yet as my wife wanted to wait until after the holidays and since I’m not in the mood to move the vinyl right now I’m good with that.
I ended up deciding that saving space was not the hugest of issues, but I wanted to decrease my footprint a bit. Ended up cutting 2 boxes and a sub.
Out: MoFi PrecisionDeck, Luxman M700u, PL EVO300 pre, Luxman D03x, Pass XP15 phono, REL Classic 98 sub, Sennheiser HDVA 600.
In: see signature.
Even after ordering 8 KT120’s, I also cleared some nice coin.
Been listening to the Pontus with the headphones and love the way it sounds. Tons of detail but not overly done. 20/20 is here but the turntable isn’t shipping until first week of January.
I’m looking forward to creating the new space upstairs and giving this setup a run for a while. I don’t feel like I’m going to miss out on much… other than the Luxman meters. Still have the Brimar tubes I was using in the EVO300 pre which I’ll use in the 400.
My listening is still going to need to lean to mostly headphones and my understanding is that the headphone section of the EVO 400 is very nice.
We’ll see where this goes.
