It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

One of us! One of us! If you collect kits, the Aberdeen strips this season are great. I'm going to wait until the end of the season and get one shipped over - the price drop will offset the postage!
Aberdeen have had a lot of nice kits, particularly the pinstripe ones. No use to me though!

City are too good. How Spurs did the double over them I’ll never understand.

The way to play city is almost to not attempt to engage them. You did that once badly and got very lucky and once to perfection. We attempted to play too and kept it up for 45 minutes and then the rest was, well, embarrassing. Only Liverpool in England are capable of taking them on blow for blow.

It’s finally happened

Took long enough, especially after the weird statement that pretty much admitted that the money would be going to Russian “victims” of the war. Still better late than too late.

BTW not a crusade against Chelsea. I hope this doesn’t hollow out the club and leave them uncompetitive but that money had to be stopped from leaving the country to support Putin.

I think if these sanctions stay in place for a while they could be finished. Obviously not really because they’d probably drop to mid table but not being able to sign players or even sell merchandise is huge.

Pretty severe ⬇️

Ouch! Those first 3 in the cannot are big! That’s more than I expected. I thought they’d be allowed to continue to trade as normal with any profits put in an escrow under the supervision of the govt. No new ticket sales and the incoming funds from existing commercial deals being frozen outside of the club is crippling. Stamford Bridge will begin to look bare in 6 weeks time with no away fans and no non season ticket fans. It’s usually about 6 weeks in advance that those are sold.

They’ll survive until the revision in May but if they can’t sell any new tickets or merchandise beyond that they’re in huge trouble unless Roman sells regardless and the proceeds are held by the govt. for the forseeable, or forever, he likely won’t on those terms!
