Hahahaha! Yeah! I hope he can go a season without getting injured for his own sake lest he become the Ivorian Phil Jones. But yeah he’s an enigma, goes from composed centre half to Bambi on Ice in the blink of an eye!
 
What’s happening to Spurs? Do they ever play well anymore? Even when they win it’s got to be dispiriting to watch this.

I was going to say. I thought the signs were good earlier in the year when you were playing shit and winning a lot because you know you have to hit form and then you’d fly. That doesn’t appear to have happened. Got to say I switch off when you’re playing now, don’t want to watch it and that would never have previously been the case with spurs, even when you were flakey but fun.

Injuries to key personnel and current, fit personnel are just bad. The age-old question to “is it the players or is it the manager?” has finally been answered. It’s the players. Doesn’t help that Conte set up the team for a 0-0 and then conceded from a set piece. You just can’t predict or anticipate set pieces. I predict Spurs come out for the second half to get an equalizer but are open at the back and Marseille get a second at about minute 65.

I suppose the thing that would concern me more is that your midfield has pretty much zero creativity. I like all 3 of the players in there, all great at what they do but you’re crying out for someone to put their foot on the ball and with the ability/vision to pass forward between the lines. Those 3 in one midfield makes for a pretty pragmatic team.

Key personnel injured is just Kulusevski. We are 1000% better with him than without. It’s similar to how Spurs relied on Eriksen so much for creativity over the years that when he was missing (which was rare) we looked so poor.

Yeah he definitely is creative in and around the box. I think I’d still like 1 of the 2 in the middle to be a bit more adventurous and brave, not necessarily in going forward and vacating space, which Conte would hate, but more in passing forward through the lines to release the front line. Because you have options galore up top.

I don’t disagree! Especially when the wing backs are not creative or lacking. That’s where the creativity comes from in Conte’s team. We’re crying out for someone who can play like a 10 in midfield. Bryan Gil should have started but Conte doesn’t like that’s he’s so small.

It really does. Martinez stepping in and playing forward through the lines and Eriksen doing the same from midfield, has made such a difference to us. It’s what we’ve been crying out for since Scholes retired and that’s just too long ago! We could just do with one of those finishers that you have a few of!

Insane that you play with both Eriksen and Bruno. Save some of that creativity for the rest of us!!

That’s the glory of a proper central midfielder like Cassemiro. Obviously we’re not at that level and Eriksen is playing deep but it’s like Fernandinho and now Rodri allowing city to almost play with two number 10s in the centre of midfield.
