It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Hoping for Croatia and Morocco to go through now. Would love to see Martinez try and explain away going out in the groups whilst he is simultaneously a tactical mastermind whose team always play well…

In case you didn't know, FIFA opened an investigation because fans brought Knin 95 flags to the game (and went on social media) to taunt Milan Borjan. As a Serb born in Croatia, Borjan fled the genocide in Knin as a child which is why he's a Canadian.

Locker room talk is one thing to get all huffy about, but this is another level altogether. Fuck them.

Maybe the players denounced this shit, but I didn't really see that.

Canadian fans? Moroccan fans? or just neutral assholes?

The entire country's reaction to Lukaku's play

Delighted to see Belgium gone. Hope Martinez is squirming.

Morocco is also an excellent story. The African teams have bounced back after a couple of weaker world cups and acquitted themselves really well. It’d be great to see one go deep.
