It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

It’s not nice to see and it will turn neutrals against you but honestly this kind of shithousery is usually a good sign in a winning team.
I was watching and immediately when I saw it I was like. Oh man FA gonna come shaking the big rule stick again because it was almost the same as the Newcastle match. Sure enough! Whatever the Fraud Aiders...I mean uh the FA can kick rocks lol it's a competitive game full of passion.

It is but I get they want to cut out surrounding refs and putting that kind of pressure on. It’s not a good look. But as I say the desperation to win is a great sign for you wanting to see a top team, no one wants their team to be making friends with everyone.

The one I can’t understand is how Arteta never gets sanctioned, he’s a fucking loon on the sideline!

How tf is that not offside?

First goal - Rashford didn’t interfere with an opposition player or touch the ball. With the current offside law that’s what matters. Whether that’s right or not from a wider standpoint is debatable.

Second goal - Rashford is behind the ball when it’s played so he can’t be offside

First goal he ABSOLUTELY interferes with the play are you kidding?

The rule states:

No City player could get the ball before him. He didn’t block them, they were no where near. The second bit is for long range shots where you block the keepers view so he can’t react.
That’s just not true. If Rashford is not there Walker or Akanji clear that ball or make a tackle on Fernandes.

Here’s another example from the rules

That is offside. It’s not even debatable I’m sorry. City got absolutely robbed here.

Again he didn’t do that. He didn’t stop a single city player getting to the ball. They were in his wake. Take him out of the picture and the ball still goes to Fernandes. Even Ederson still comes out to meet Fernandes.

Yes he did!

But Yanited won so

No he didn’t. Show me the city player he blocked. There was zero contact. They weren’t close to touch tight, he was yards past them.
By Rashford running over the ball, he prevents a City defender and Ederson from playing the ball. He doesn’t touch the ball but he has “possession” of the ball by taking 5-6 strides with it in his possession. That’s interfering the movement of City’s players. He’s offside when he’s doing that so he should be called as offside.
