It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

He also just didn’t I still any confidence on the way he spoke. He was too positive and upbeat even when it was clear there were issues. It made him look clueless.
but that might also be an an americav vs. european cultural issue and not so much pont to actual cluelessness

Totally but there also has to be a bit of cop on. He’s not fresh out of the packet. He’s worked in Germany and Austria too. If you come into English football and get repeatedly beat and only focus on how great everything is you’re going to get slaughtered. You need to be more humble, not in a negative way but in a way that you both focus on the positives and on what you need to work on. Football is a brutal game. Never mind the fans the dressing room is like the hunger games, if you don’t convince them they will turn on you and eat you alive.

He missed the 2nd penalty to take the lead :(

This is going the distance I fear

EDIT: Boojy'd

Still good cup run, can concentrate on promotion now with a nice wedge in the back pocket from both games being televised sell outs, especially the one at Bramhall Lane tonight, it’s a good sized stadium.

Yea absolutely! Mullin missing that 2nd penalty in the 72nd minute took then wind out of the sails. Then he went down. Silly mistake cost them the 2nd goal right before the end of regulation. the 3rd they had all but given up at that point

All about the promotion now!

Obviously not a Man U fan but that would be absolutely sickening. Maybe it would stimulate some action on who can own a Premier League team. I fear FSG might go the state-run route when they fully sell the club. My hope is the groundswell would be such to stop them.

Unfortunately all American owners thus far are in it as an investment vehicle so whilst they have never been quite as reprehensible as the Glazers they’ll sell to whomever chucks the biggest profit their way.

Honestly, there won’t be regulation without it being forced on them from government. If Chelsea, and then city and then Newcastle, three blatant sportswashing projects, didn’t stir it then nothing will.

I don't know. I could easily see the prospect of the biggest brand with the most winning tradition being taken over for sportswashing would steer the government to act. I feel like Liverpool in a similar position would push it too but I think the Scousers would just burn the place down first. Chelsea feels like one that got in before everyone knew wiser or decided to care.
