Dunno. He was 8/8 in the CL, still in the DFB Cup, 40% of Bayern’s losses have been under Tuchel. Criticize his tactics all you want but he was doing fine and getting results. Bayern have high standards and expect to win everything every season. Disrupting Nagelsmann even though he’s “””Diet Pep””” seems to have derailed their season worse than if he was still there.Reports in the German press are he’d lost all the experienced players in the dressing room. Felt that he was very immature and that it showed in his tactics which they saw as self indulgences designed to make him look clever rather than necessarily to give the team the best chance against the specific opponents. Diet Pep strikes again.

Bayern probably lose to City if they had Nagelsmann, but I think blaming all of Bayern's issues on Nagelsmann is silly. He was doing fine, good even. Could he have been doing better? yes. But Tuchel seems to not have started strongly and it makes the decision to bin off Nagelsmann look shortsighted in hindsight. If they end up not winning the league then Bayern will implode.Yeah CL group stages are notoriously weak and he played against a circus rather than a football team in the last 16. This is the first time they’ve played a team in Europe that’s on, or above, their level. The game on Wednesday showed up yet another fault with modern tacticians. The false 9 only works if you’re Pep, who really is a genius, or you have Messi. Centre forwards are really bloody important not just for goals but for the whole attacking structure and the ability to go over, or around the sides of, a super high intensity press.
