It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

They're 12 points out with 2 games in hand of the playoff "wildcard" aka a play-in for a real playoff spot. From the clear salary cap circumvention Inter Miami is doing, the league will do everything they can to make it happen. It's obvious from these few games that Messi, Busquets, and Alba are enough to make them a top team in the league. But if you think Messi rules in La Liga were bad, wait until he's playing in a league where weaponized incompetence is actually a real thing. The only question right now is if Messi will actually play on artificial turf, but he indicated that he would.

I can’t see why he wouldn’t. Argentina don’t have anything major going on this year and from my experiences of seeing games on it in Scotland it’s generally the real speed merchants who suffer with chronic hamstring problems that sit it out. I know when Bellamy was on loan at Celtic that he just missed all those games, for example. For all that he has that burst he isn’t a pace merchant and I don’t remember him having hamstring issues.

He's absolutely just mostly walking around into space right now so I don't think it would be an issue

He said in his press conference the other day that he had no problem playing on turf because that’s what he played on in academy.

Also from the interviews I’ve listened to, it seems the 2024 season is when the expectations will begin. The Leagues Cup and to some degree the US Open Cup are unexpected surprises.

It will be interesting to see how spending rules are changed for next season and moving forward.

That red on Mac Allister seemed fairly harsh for a 50 50 ball.

It’s kinda an orange. It was over the ball and studs up but then the force wasn’t huge. It’s one of those that had he given a yellow VAR wouldn’t upgrade it but they also aren’t going to downgrade a red.

Does Dortmund play indoors?

We’ve looked much better so far today but still have a times been a bit too open on the counter.

On another note the amount of shit the spurs fans are throwing on the pitch whenever we have a corner is pretty disgusting.

They need to save it for Greenwood, it’s disgusting just throwing it at Bruno or Shaw

Overall not feeling confident. United should have at least 1

Well my hope is that that day will never come and that sense prevails but who the fuck knows at this stage. Still not right fans throwing things.

Perhaps we should but you look dangerous on the counter and were just very unlucky with the woodwork there.
