It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

The time difference is the problem for me. The 6 AM matches aren't horrible because I Can watch the tail end before Leaving for work, but majority of the tournament has been difficult to watch for that reason
I’ve been watching the Telemundo broadcast on Peacock so I can easily just watch the match replays in the morning once I’m up. It takes a bit of effort to avoid spoilers but it works well for the most part.

Yeah this has been bubbling under the scenes for the last week.

The Athletic’s United correspondent got a tip of from disgruntled staff about it, went for comment and United released a hasty statement saying the evidence gathering part of their investigation was done and now they had to make a decision.

Rumour is the decision had been made to bring him back but the outrage from fans groups and some nasty pressure put on the women’s team players from overseas fans from countries who’s women’s rights movements maybe aren’t as advanced made the club delay until at least after the women’s World Cup.

Quite frankly fuck him and fuck the whole Glazer regime that’s acted way too slowly on this whole matter. I don’t know a single British/Irish United fan that wants him within a million miles of the club.

Tough for the Blades but I love that Chris Wood is still out there just usin' his noggin

Yeah he’s a real throwback and while I know that type of forward is out of fashion nowadays I have a real affection for a proper headed goal from a centre forward and there were two tonight.

Also impressive how Cooper is getting the best out of Aurier given that he is, putting it nicely, a couple of pennies short of the full pound…

Considering he hasn’t played an MLS game and Miami are marooned bottom is it still possible for him to get them into the play offs in what remains of the campaign?
They're 12 points out with 2 games in hand of the playoff "wildcard" aka a play-in for a real playoff spot. From the clear salary cap circumvention Inter Miami is doing, the league will do everything they can to make it happen. It's obvious from these few games that Messi, Busquets, and Alba are enough to make them a top team in the league. But if you think Messi rules in La Liga were bad, wait until he's playing in a league where weaponized incompetence is actually a real thing. The only question right now is if Messi will actually play on artificial turf, but he indicated that he would.
