All the greats that I grew up hearing stories of from my dad/granddad, or saw on grainy old videos, seem to have been leaving us recently. Out of all the German players he was always the one who was spoken of the highest in Britain and it always seemed like himself and Bobby Charlton had a great rivalry on the pitch matched only by their mutual respect for one another off it.
