January Challenge - The Music Awakens…

January 27: The Resistance – Play a genre you resisted to, but ended up appreciating.

Robyn - Body Talk Pt 1

I ignored pop for a good while, but albums like this one changed that.

This is dreadful and I may not finish it.
By the way, I did not. She had a great voice but no emotion what so ever. The album was designed to expand her already gargantuan audience so there were odd folk and pop songs just dabbling in the middle of the opera. The orchestra was dreadful. When choirs showed up they sounded bored. It was recorded awfully, the mix was terrible and it was produced like a Mutt Lange album or something with an unneeded sheen. It was absolutely terrible. I think it may have been my mom’s or a gift from her and I’m fairly certain I had only listened to it on an old cd clock radio I had once upon a time. I’m sure it’s aural sins were masked heavily by nineties budget stereo equipment. Blech. Just terrible.

January 31: May the Force Be with You – The Force is an energy field that surrounds and penetrates all living things, binding the galaxy together. Play an artist whose energy has been highly influential.

If a entire generation of musicians call you Uncle Neil, I think you've done alright in being highly influential. Throw in Crazy Horse and you've got an energy field that surrounds and penetrates all living things.

Adding Road-Eyes to the mix? That takes it out to a galaxy far, far, away.
