Yep 2500 copies were pressed for BFRSD, US only though. Weird considering he is British. Hoping for a global press at some point.
Juno has a pre release date for it. Not sure if it’s a separate/new UK/EU release or they’re getting their hands on some of the BF copies. I thought it weird too that this didn’t make it over here.

EDIT: different barcode on the rear sleeve so I guess it is a new release.

As usual with Chad, a very conservative, even boring series aimed dead square at retirees with disposable income to spare, who enjoy nothing more than unchallenging, straight bop standards.

The 2 Ornette are still widely available in the Craft box set which never sold out. The Previn is pleasant rocking chair stuff. The Counce is light but has a great cover. Leroy Walks is the most interesting title here.

Prince Lasha & Sonny Simmons - Firebirds.
Woody Shaw - Blackstone Legacy.
Art Farmer - On The Road.
Art Pepper - The Trip.
Chico Freeman - Gentle Hearts.
Joe Henderson - Relaxin At Camarillo.
Billy Higgins - Bridgework.
Teddy Edwards - Good Gravy.

IMHO, far better records, but Chad won't touch them.

Blackstone Legacy would be a very welcome choice for me!

I guess all my OJCs are worth $75 a piece now. FFS, Acoustic Sounds used prices are absurd.

This is insanity, I really hope they wont get bought so they cant continue justifying this.....but they will.

For fun, I picked the first one on their website, 1989 OJC pressing of Gene Ammons – Bad! Bossa Nova.
Discogs average of £16.29 (around $20).
Acoustic Sounds price $75 (around £61).
Crazy.

But...but...but...but they all came from a private collector so totally worth 2 to 3 time the Discogs median.

I'm sure these will sell because folks with more expendable money than I would rather pay more and grab 5 to 10 clean albums in one swoop, versus tracking down individuals at local shops or via online sellers.
