Target has the new OJC reissues up.

$33.50
Lot of people were balking at $40 SRP
I jumped on them at this price and burned some target points.

FYI- The Lockjaw went from $99 in Nov to $120 today. So SRP can move after preorders.

Bunch of new Nucleus reissues from BeWith

Target usually charges under MSRP. I might order these but was considering waiting for a buy 2 sale

Solar Plexus was the first Nucleus album I heard and still remains my favourite. Well worth checking out.

I was gonna post this in the ECM thread, but I’ve been lazy. There has been a bunch of releases recently. I have a promo copy of that Nana album.

Jesus…i guess I haven’t been paying attention. I’m going to have to be even more selective.
haha where ya been?? the tone poets have been close to $40 MSRP for awhile now as have those other series. And most newly announced jazz reissue series from the bigger labels are around that price. Depending on how widespread the releases are, most can be found in sales though. I have gotten most of the Tone Poets I have wanted for under $30.

So my copy of Muriel Grossman's "Birth Of The Mystery" arrived today from the US and I have to say its the most battered looking new record I have ever recieved. Just take a look at this....

I recently picked up a new copy of Union from a store here in the states with similar scuffing, although not quite as bad as your photo, and one small scratch that is feelable yet somehow does not seem to affect play. Somewhat unexpected since RRGems uses nice poly lined sleeves, I guess they are really getting battered on their journey from Finland (Estonia? can't remember)

Gnu High is one of my all-time favorite ECM records. It made me a fan of Kenny Wheeler and Keith Jarrett is amazing on it.

I hope this series reissues this gem:

looks like from digital transfers, but I tend to like BeWith's releases.
They say otherwise, but I can't vouch for it. But I can say that every other one in this series is fantastic, and holds up very, very well to a UK OG - which are very tough to find in true mint, can be made quiet condition.

Given the value of an OG, I am quite happy to have just pre-ordered all 4 and getting my OG's ready to sell.

The value-benefit quotient at play.

Among the many other significant ECM recordings appearing in this ongoing re-issue series will be Keith Jarrett’s Bremen Lausanne 3-LP Box-set, Jan Garbarek’s Afric Pepperbird as well as Madar, by Garbarek and Anouar Brahem, which appears on vinyl for the first time. Also, Zakir Hussain’s Making Music, Gary Burton’s TheNew Quartet, and the self-titled album by Old And New Dreams with Don Cherry, Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden and Ed Blackwell. And of course, Luminessence, the 1975 album that gives the series its name and sees Jan Garbarek improvising over string-arrangements written explicitly for him by Keith Jarrett, will also be part of the edition and released soon. All of these records were produced by Manfred Eicher – and more will follow.
