Anyone here have the Byrd/Jasper Cannes 58? It’s on closeout in a few places and I’m intrigued but also saw on Discogs early pressings were defective. Is it safe to assume the closeout stock isn’t defective?

Anyone know of any way to get episodes of NPR’s Jazz Profiles? Lots aren’t on their website, was wondering if maybe older episodes were available on CD or if libraries have access to archived or something?

Internet archive may have some.

Yeah but they usually don't have the file to stream because of how NPR hosts stuff.

Might try reaching out to a few local stations and seeing if maybe I can get lucky.

Steeplechase has been repressing their albums for awhile, so this is probably listed as another year on discogs.

I bought one, but it's sitting at the shop in Vancouver until I spent another $70 or so, so it might be a few weeks yet 'til I get it

Been putting Prestige/Et al through the Humminguru lately...and have to say this record just sings...

and really all these wave jazz classics from Japan, early 90s - much scuttlebutt about where the plates are from but who gives a fuck, these are seriously good value and while some of the great sessions (like above, which is on Status records, I cannot fathom how this session was demoted) are getting more pricey, they are serious QPR and should be on everyones radar. many still avail for real cheap, some even have tip on jackets.

I have three of them and even the RkS I have sucks. They are really just place holders. Need Chad to do them. I would replace the Alices I have for sure.

The Dealer has a track that just abruptly fades out in the middle of it hah. It’s missing half the song.
