I have this Tribe compilation in my want list and I'll have to listen to that Greek record. I really enjoyed the Greek Fusion Orchestra Vol1&2. Thanks for the heads up.

Congrats to you too @Skalap. Will let you know I get on. The compromise in my mind is that I play a lot of the records to her so it's a win win for all. The Mrs doesn't seem to share my view

No, there was so much good stuff this year that I had to make some tough decisions. Joe McPhee on Tuesday, Angel Bat Dawid next weekend and Makaya the following Tuesday. I've spent more on babysitters than tickets!

Congrats on your upcoming baby! I have a two year old and a three month old and yeah, the transition can be tough but it gets easier! Try and make the best of the time you do get, cos it's about to be reaaaal limited. And remember that it gets easier.

If you live in the Twin Cities area, Riverview Theater is showing Mile Davis: Birth of the Cool. Went yesterday - incredible live and archival footage/photos. Great interviews with Shorter, Herbie, Frances Taylor and others (who, by the way, was

He’s a Manchester trumpeter. Spiritual jazz. Lots of good stuff. His stuff is really lyrical and the spiritual touches are done subtly (harp, flute, Indian instruments).
