If you don’t already know, Summertime on that Jones/Davis record is straight fire, rivaled only by — possibly — the version on Shelly Manne & Men Vol. 1, which gave me a completely new understanding of Shelly Manne as a drummer. Really, I just love that song as a deconstructed jazz tune.

So last week I picked up a brand new and sealed Miles Davis bitches brew for $70. I’m pretty sure it’s an og pressing and Only thing wrong is a slight bit of corner damage but other than that it’s in great shape. I’m kind of tempted to open it up and give it a spin.
