Day 9 - A Triple Album

Was goin to go with The Beatles Mono Masters as I haven’t spun it yet, yeah I know, what am I even doing with my life? But it’s been such a lonely year with only one Ween show announced so far—Riot Fest. ☹

I was saving a week of vacation to follow them around wherever they may have gone, but that runs up the end of September.

So, let me get my much needed live Ween fix with the brownest of the brown.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this morning we are Paintin’ The Town Brown.

Day 11: An Oldie But A Goodie

I had this playing when I discovered that it is actually a reissue - one that doesn't look to be in Discogs - but other Pitman reissues of this timeframe are. I have other original releases that are older than 1961, but I'm still spinning this one.

Day 11 - An Oldie But A Goodie

Can’t find my 1949 Count Basie 10” at the moment, so I’ll go with this 1957 original mono copy of Hard Bop by The Jazz Messengers.

Obviously not the greatest output from this forever changing Messenger lineup, but a wonderful addition to their legendary output. Jackie McLean is great on this one, and I also really enjoy Bill Hardman’s trumpet work.

Record still plays great after all these years. Not too much surface noise either. Also with song names like “Cranky Spanky” and “Stanley’s Stiff Chickens” how can you go wrong?

Thanks for helping me remember this one. ❤✌

Day 12: Rain

While it seems to rain a lot in Oregon, we actually need more or this will be another really dry summer.

One thing I do miss about living in the midwest are thunderstorms - they happen here so infrequently people get a little odd when they hear thunder.
