It's literally a fact that you called a racially related genre a novelty. I don't understand. Didn't you?Such are the times we live in when one can make up their own "facts."

Yeah, I’d consider any of those to be a novelty (less so on the coloured records because they’re a lot more commonplace now). Do you consider any of those to be a novelty, or which record in your collection do you consider to be the closet thing to a novelty based on your definition of it?Hmm, this is a hard one for me. What all counts in the category of novelty? A Christmas record? A silly Zappa song? Picture disc? Any colored record? I don't have any funny shaped ones or chipmunks records yet.
I've still got to catch up, so I'll think about it, but probably a cool picture disc is my most "novelty record". Etchings are neat too, but hard to show. I have the last Idles record which has like 16 different art prints you can choose the cover from, I suppose that's novelty.Yeah, I’d consider any of those to be a novelty (less so on the coloured records because they’re a lot more commonplace now). No Kidz Bop compilations?I've still got to catch up, so I'll think about it, but probably a cool picture disc is my most "novelty record". Etchings are neat too, but hard to show. Which one did you get?Day 18 - Novelty
I don’t really have any unique “novelty” records, beyond a few etchings, so I’m gonna spin this one a different way.
On November 17, 2017 King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard did something no group has ever done. With their fourth album Polygondwanaland, the band made the album free to the public in every way possible. Anyone could press their own variant, make their own cassette tapes/CDs with the masters the band threw out to the public, along with a folder full of artwork and images to go along with it.
And the album is pretty fucking unique in itself. I don’t think there’s an album this catchy using nonstandard time signatures and polyrhythms. In short, the album is a novel masterpiece. It’s also their best album.
This one is the fan pressing (#10/1000), but I also bought both Needlejuice variants but gifted them both away; I also own one of the half-speed remastered 45rpm presses (forgot which one), and also the Gruesome Twosome press with the different colored cover art—Which one did you get?
Have you ever read his book The Music Lesson?Day 19:
Cool! I got that Kickstarter Aural Pleasure one, cut by Ryan Smith. Took forever but it's a pretty great package. This one is the fan pressing (#10/1000), but I also bought both Needlejuice variants but gifted them both away; I also own one of the half-speed remastered 45rpm presses (forgot which one), and also the Gruesome Twosome press with the different colored cover art—
Yeah! That’s the one I have too. It’s the split color one. Definitely the best sounding one I own.Cool! I got that Kickstarter Aural Pleasure one, cut by Ryan Smith. Took forever but it's a pretty great package.
