July 2021 Vinyl Spin Challenge: Summer Breeze Makes Me Feel Fine

July 14 - Bastille Day
Play something connected to France or revolution.

This theme's a blessing since I don't know if I would have even given this one a spin on the full collection listen. Kind of rocks to be honest, even if I can't understand a darn word

July 12 - By the time I get to Arizona
Play your favourite road trip album

Tricky one.
When I'm commuting I usually listen to podcasts and on the rare road trips with the family my wife likes to chat (no matter how long the drive is, lol).
So I'll use this day to spin a recent buy.

Neil Young - Harvest

July 11 - National Mojito day.

My preferred beverage the last couple years has been Bourbon and Sprite, since I mix it this keeps me a bit more frugal and I don't buy the more expensive bourbons out there. Currently I have a bottle of Bulleit Bourbon that I got on sale...I still go middle shelf, not those plastic bottles on the bottom shelf.

July 12 - By the time I get to Arizona

Since my wife fractured her pelvis 20-ish years ago, sitting in a car for more than 2 hours is a bit hard for her. So real road trips are a bit hard to do without stopping frequently for her to stand up and walk around for a bit.

Because of that we really haven't done many road trips. We go for "drives", but those are about an hour and a half at most. We just talk or listen to SiriusXM Road Trip Radio, as the 3 of us can't agree on any other station or a full album to play....and with COVID the last year+, we really haven't had anywhere to go or drive to.

I used to drive more aggressively when I was younger... I think that had a lot to do with the music I used to listen to when I was on road trips by myself. (my wife would not allow this album to be played in the car...she would just change the station)

July 13 - Reelin’ in the years.

Oh...what to play.

Here's my current score/soundtrack list on Discogs - I may have missed a couple here or there in my collection, but I'm closing in on 500.

It's been years since I've watched this movie.
