I was lucky enough to grow up in a town 100 miles south of Chicago on I-55 while Jordan and the Bulls were at their apex. Jordan was always there, The Bulls were always competitive and because I didn’t know that this is not the norm I think I took it for granted. Now approaching the 25th anniversary of that last championship following countless rebuilds, coaches, and lottery picks I can’t help but appreciate those moments that much more. The 1990s was a great time to be a Bulls fan it just took me 15 years to fully appreciate how lucky I was.

Regarding the musical selection, Horsegirl are an awesome new band from one of the best city this country has to offer.

Day 7: Cleveland Cavaliers

Play an album from an artist from Ohio or one with old-fashioned album art.

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral

The state of Ohio is chocked full of killer bands and artists from Toledo, Akron, Dayton, Columbus, Kent, Cincinnati etc. but Cleveland, what a city bereft of musical talent. I am glad they are home to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame because they need all the help they can get. Thankfully NIN got their start there (before GTFO). Also, thank heavens for Lebron the only thing more lacking in Cleveland than it’s homegrown musical talent is it’s Pro sports success.

Day 8: Detroit Pistons

Play an album from an artist from Michigan.

Larry McCray - Blues Without You

Even though he was born in Arkansas, he's spent most of his life and all his professional career in Michigan. I'm originally from the Detroit area and saw the Pistons play the Palace many times as a kid.
