Collection skews more towards rock - although my Jazz / Soul / Hip-Hop collection has definitely grown as a factor of this forum and my kids musical taste. This soundtrack hits all the right spots for me.
When it comes to my favorite genre my answer probably changes daily, but the one area that I will always love and come back to is 80’s music. And when it comes to 80’s music Kick is one of my all time favorite albums.
This is the 30th Anniversary Edition - red vinyl, 2LP x 45RPM, half speed mastered at Abbey Road. It sounds awesome.
Lee Morgan - Leeway (Blue Note, 1961 First Mono Pressing)
Jazz has become my most listened to genre over the past few years. In fact, im close to becoming obsessed by it, constantly reading books, scouring the internet for discographies and appearances by certain musicians, and (before COVID hit) seeking out live shows. My first real 'WOW' moment was hearing John Coltrane - Blue Train, and Lee Morgan's performance was a highlight for me. He's now my favourite jazz musician and I'm well on the way to having all his albums. It was tricky for me to choose which one to play today, so instead I went for a random pick and came out with Lee-Way.

Not gonna lie.. this was the toughest one for me so far. Looks like I need to diversify more. I was going to post Lyrics Born but say someone else did - Nice!!
This one came with a nice little signed booklet of lyrics by the band and poet Larry Beckett. I'm sure I have cooler art stuff with some other albums, but it's escaping me right now. And I want to listen to this great poppy album on what is a beautiful day in Portland.
Well, since I went to 1 term of college then took a job, this is more like my "having a job and going back to college to party" time. Kinda started diving into indie deeper at this time, and Bob Mould was a good one.
Day 22: Your Personal Favorite Genre day Nirvana - In Utero
As I have grown older and wiser my edges have dulled enough that I now am happy to explore genres that I would have never given the time of day 20 years ago (mainly Country, Jazz, and Pop). That being said, my bread & butter music genre was, is, and likely to remain guitar-based Underground/Alternative/Indie Rock.
