“Deep Dark Truthful Mirror” is my favorite song to sing and play on the piano when I’ve had a few beers

Holy shit, what a set. Thanks for posting that. Deep Dark is a fave of mine...but everything he played in that set is fantastic, sore throat and all.

24 – Babe – Like Better Man, this is another one she wrote, shelved, and then gave to another country artist to deliver (Sugarland in this case). She also wrote this with the lead singer of Train.
Play an album that was initially released in the CD Era (you know, where Train belongs, let’s say 1990-2010), and yes I know there’s CD diehards here.

JEAN LELOUP L'AMOUR EST SANS PITIÉ
(1990 Audiogram, 2018 reissue)
Today is St-Jean-Baptiste day, Fête Nationale in Québec, so I'm playing one of my all-time local favorites.

Here's a couple samples to share our 1990 culture a little...

18 – Come Back…Be Here: The track is another one that draws on themes of other songs (distance in relationships eventually crumbling them), albeit with a very different tone to it

Play an album about or that references New York

Since I've had this sitting on my desk for a while.

Fred Mollin – Friday The 13th Part VIII - Jason Takes Manhattan
Terror Vision – T.V.047, 2020/2022

Terror Vision Cassette Club variant w/ clear red shell, limited to 100

Bending the rules as this didn't get an official release till past the CD era. But in light of todays news, the version of Porch from unplugged highlighting Eddie's support of abortion rights seems unfortunately appropriate.

19 – Girl At Home: Given the sheer volume of Swift songs about relationships, it’s a tiny bit surprising we haven’t gotten a track of her as the potential “other woman” until this one. Maybe except Better Than Revenge but we don’t really talk about that any more right?

Play your favorite pandemic album

It may not be my "favorite", but I did purchase it late in 2019 just prior to the pandemic...for $6 bucks.

Going w/ an old pic because I'm lazy

Real Gone Music ‎– RGM-0584, 2011/2017

Arrested Development - 3 Years, 5 Months And 2 Days In The Life Of...

Picture it; Pontiac, IL Christmas Day 1992, an 11 year old future TLK is working his way through his Christmas present when he finally received the thing he had desired most, a Craig Boombox with cassette deck and most importantly a Compact Disc player. The digital age had begun! I had coveted CD player for a year or two at this point my knockoff walkman and the family component stereo system that resided in the living room just weren’t cutting it any more. I was just beginning my music journey and I needed the freedom to listen to music in the privacy of my bedroom. Thankfully my mom was wise enough to know she probably shouldn’t pick the CDs so the day after we went to Walmart and I purchased my first two compact discs; Cooleyhighharmony by new Jack swing wunderkinds Boys II Men and this, an album by Hip-hop upstarts Arrested Development. Over the next decade I would put together a very solid CD collection. Sadly, the end of the decade led to Napster and burned CD-Rs and later still iPods. By that point, at least for me, CDs as a medium had run its course, devalued and obsolete. The last new CD I ever purchased was Wilco’s Yankee Hotel Foxtrot back in 2001. Around 2006 I had started collecting vinyl. At that point, my collection of a few hundred CDs was collecting dust in a box in the back of my closet, so I finally decided to take the box down to my local record store and trade the whole lot in for around $100 in store credit and never looked back.

Still, I fucking loved that boombox.

Play an album referencing country life and/or pigs

Pink Floyd - Animals

"Pigs on the Wing Pt. 1" and "Pigs on the Wing Pt. 2" bookend one of my top50 all time.
The corporate and political ones, of course. Never will be a day (sadly) where this album's relevancy will be an allegorical theme of the past. Made more clear today.

It was as if millions of Metallica fans cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. Me, I still air guitar the hell out of King Nothing.

Metallica - Load

I still remember the good old day before I knew what the album art was a photo of.

Initially I thought it’s was lava.

Soo very very wrong.

Hah, can't say it's my preferred art medium, but I think it makes for a pretty cool album cover. I mean if you're gonna name your album Load why not go all in?

I had to go look this up and I didn't need to know. Could have just kept on thinking it was lava, lol

Just now?! 😆

22 – Better Man – We’ve now made it to the Taylor’s Version exclusives. One of the more interesting aspects of this song is that she gave this to Little Big Town to use, which they then won a Grammy with.

Sharon Van Etten - We've Been Going About This All Wrong

No explanation needed- she knows how to write 'em.

Play an album that has a song (or songs) that can skirt moral lines

Prince - The Gold Experience

Um, just listen to the first song...
