January 16: Jimi Hendrix

Not sure how many of you go for the various posthumus albums. Some are good - some are obvious cash grabs. I've got a couple, and this one was my less frequently played.

Jimi Hendrix – Both Sides Of The Sky
Experience Hendrix/Legacy – 19075814201, 2018

Numbered to an unknown amount - #5778

I would even buy a reissue of Voodoo Soup. I have all of them on some shape or form. If the Hendrix direct stuff didn’t sound like hell, I’d probably pick those up. I grab live stuff when it is on sale. I have like 16 individual releases at this point.

Day 12 - Patti Smith

Rina Sawayama - SAWAYAMA

“Jesus died for somebody’s sins, but not yours”

This immediately made me think of a queer artist and Rina’s “This Hell” feels like it fits perfectly. I don’t own that album so I’ll go with her debut

Lou Reed
was crucial in shaping the landscape of rock music with his influential work as the frontman for The Velvet Underground. His songwriting, characterized by gritty realism and poetic lyricism, challenged conventional norms and explored taboo subjects. Reed's solo career further showcased his versatility, from the iconic "Transformer" album to experimental ventures. His impact on alternative rock and his fearless approach to artistic expression solidify Lou Reed's lasting legacy in the music industry.

“Music should come crashing out of your speakers and grab you, and the lyrics should challenge whatever preconceived notions that listener has.” - Lou Reed

You know what to do!
