Built to Spill - Keep it Like a Secret

"You were right when you said all that glitters isn't gold
You were right when you said all we are is dust in the wind
You were right when you said we're all just bricks in the wall
And when you said manic depression's a frustrated mess"

Serious fire right here. I saw them a few years ago and it was really such an amazing show. Doug is remarkable.

January 18: Bob Marley

I have 2 different copies of the Legend comp - and another compilation from Germany - but I wanted to play this one, as it's one of my favorite soundtracks anyway. I also think it was the first reggae album I had, so it was my introduction to the genre.

Various – The Harder They Come (Original Soundtrack Recording)

Keith Richards
is a towering figure in the realm of rock and roll, renowned for his profound musical influence. As the lead guitarist and songwriter for The Rolling Stones, he has been a driving force behind the band's enduring success for over six decades. Richards' innovative guitar playing, characterized by gritty riffs and raw energy, has set the standard for rock musicians worldwide. His blues-inspired approach to the guitar, coupled with a rebellious stage presence, has left an indelible mark on the genre.

Beyond his instrumental contributions, Keith Richards' songwriting has been pivotal to The Rolling Stones' extensive catalog of hits. His collaboration with Mick Jagger produced timeless classics like "Satisfaction," "Paint It Black," and "Sympathy for the Devil." Richards' impact goes beyond the music itself, as he has become a cultural icon synonymous with the hedonistic and free-spirited ethos of rock and roll. Despite the challenges of a tumultuous lifestyle, Richards' enduring passion for music and his role in shaping the rock genre solidify his legacy as one of the greatest guitarists and influencers in the history of popular music.

Let the Beatles vs. Stones battle commence! No, seriously, The Stones kick ass. Play something by them, or another rock group you fancy!

The Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed

There was a point 10-15 years ago when The Stones were my favorite band. And Keith Richards was my favorite guitarist. While I’m not as crazy about them as I once was, they’ll always have a special place in my heart.

@scotthilk -

Check out John Brown's Body and Dubconscious.

Some good JBB video I shot many moons ago on a rudimentary camcorder...

A good representation of Dubconscious...

I didn't get too far into the mono box early last year, so I never got to this compilation...maybe I should finally play some more from the box.
