ICONIC IMAGERY
Play something with a famous album cover.

I'm sure they have a much more iconic cover album, but you pretty much know this one when you see it, too.

This promo still has the artist/title sticker that isn't seen too often on regular retail releases of the original pressing when found in the bins.

Pink Floyd – The Wall
Columbia – PC2 36183, 1979

Promo, "Demonstration Not For Sale" printed on labels.

Viable simply because of album artwork. I am certain that Miyazaki fans would LOVE the sound of this record...I know I do. Ambient/new age music that is so heartwarming.

RESPECT YOUR CAT DAY

Unpopular opinion, but I do not appreciate cats. They want me dead and just being in their presence my body tries to kill itself by not breathing. I respect their game of just being lazy sobs who mooch off of humans for their existence, but they're kinda evil and would eat us if they could. I do, however, like dinosaurs. And this one is part tiger, which is a cat, and a Tiger-Rex is cool.

Jerry Garcia - Run for the Roses

BLAST TO THE PAST
Play a modern album with a throwback sound.

Lots of great choices here. I'll go with the low hanging fruit on this one.

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black

My cat is a menace but he's also a good boy and also trouble...he contains multitudes. You know what other album contains a multitude of cats of various behaviors and moods?

Andrew Lloyd Webber - Cats

(I'll grab photos in a bit of the records but here is the big boy)

TWO FOR TUESDAY
Play an album you own on multiple formats. (Whether it be vinyl, CD, tape, digital, etc.)

Honestly was really looking for an excuse to play this one today as all the Norah re-release news and tour news has got me jonesing (sorry, had to). I definitely have this one on CD, which I then ripped to digital. I also have two copies on vinyl (and probably a third coming with the remaster.

Also like...I know I don't need to pitch people on Norah Jones but "Turn Me On" has like 3-4 perfect little vocal choices on there alone.

Norah Jones - Come Away With Me (Acoustic Sounds)

The Rolling Stones "Some Girls" (1978 Rolling Stones Record, Japanese pressing).
I have the half-speed master, a CD and a recently-acquired original Japanese pressing. I also have digital files. I guess it's on streaming too. The Japanese pressing with the unsensored cover destroys all other versions I have heard.

Respect Your Cat Day

Here's my selection for today. I had high hopes for these guys after falling in love with the album, then absolutely loving the show I attended in January of 2020. But not much to fall for since then, just merch and variants. I'd love for them to knock me over with their second album...we'll see.

As far as the cat pics....
We just adopted two littermate rescues and it was going so well for the first four days. But then we had to take them to the vet because one had an infection...that appointment and the ensuing medicating of Zyg (the brother) made he and Penny (sister) run and hide from us for the last three days. We've only had them a total of 8 days so this is probably all normal...especially for adopted ferals.

Here's their current status.IMG_0431.JPGIMG_0429.JPG
