DAY 27 - Least Favorite Album Cover
Grant Green - Solid
This entire Blue Note series has absolutely awful album covers. I stayed away from buying any for the longest time because of it. Each one has an awful stock photo that doesn't really have to do anything with the album. But the pressings and music on these are all Solid (pun intended). Lots of previously unreleased sessions from great BN artists.

Day 24: Soundtrack Sunday.
Bob Dylan - Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid
I have a grand total of two soundtracks on vinyl, and I already played my other one, so it's back to this dollar-bin version of Dylan's really underrated soundtrack that I've played for this one in every other challenge. I should probably see the film at some point, huh?

I’ve gotten to cross off some major artists for me in the 2010s. I know this will never happen but I would have loved to see this queen strut on stage.

Bill Callahan - Live at Third Man Records
I got into Bill around 2011, when Apocalypse came out, and then was moving around for a while and never got the chance to see him. Then he got married and had a kid and barely performed. The last time he came to Toronto, I think last fall, the ticketing websites all went down the day they went on sale and I was stuck at work so I couldn't run to a record store to grab one. One day I'll see him, I'm sure. Of my favourite artists that are still active, I think I'm only still yet to see him and Joanna Newsom. In the meantime, this excellent live album with just him and his lead guitarist Matt Kinsey will do fine.

Lonely Island covers smog...or better still, smog covers Lonely Island. I am sure Callahan’s vocals would take “I’m On a Boat” to another level.

Eruca Sativa - Seremos Primavera (2019)
Eruca Sativa is one of the most interesting bands in Argentina nowadays. They make a very powerful rock. So their last album is not as heavy as the others, is calmer and more introspective. It's a very, very good album...
...and they decided to take a picture posing as if they're in an improv class, dressed like Sporty Spice had a shrimp allergy.

Y'all, I am torn.
I do have a least favorite album cover, but it is offensive to the point of wondering if it is worth even posting a cropped photo of the cover. I love the people here and don't want to risk triggering anyone.
Let's put it this way: it's a Scorpions album...and it's original cover is banned in the U.S.

So I actually think the artwork is badass but when I bought it I didn’t realize it was a picture disk and thought it would be in a nice gatefold I could proudly display but instead It’s just in a cheap clear plastic sleeve.So this cheap plastic sleeve is my least favorite cover.

Looking at this more and more I'm not sure how I feel about it. I want to know the needles backstory, did it live a full life? Was it used for good or bad? Who picked out the coffin? Are those flowers just floating? Are they going to dig a hole? When will this be a VMP Classic ROTM? How come this record plays so well and yet the cover is straight beat? Did I buy this at a garage sale? So many things running through my head right now damn!
