Ya ever see a someone get murdered in real time?…
This isn't even wrong? I mean yeah, saying he's the best is pretty laughable, but for whatever faults he may have as a filmmaker, Snyder definitely knows how to make a cool-looking shot. 300 looks more visually interesting than most modern blockbusters in general to my eyes I get why people don't like Snyder but to act like he has absolutely zero talent is a bit ridiculous to me.
Yeah, and I think it's definitely fair to criticize forsaking story for style. That said, I'll take a movie with great visuals and a not-so-great story over a movie with a decent story that's boring to look at nine times out of ten.He and Michael Bay kind of suffer from the same thing (in my probably wrong opinion)- they have a certain ability for dynamic shots with flair, but they don't really know when to rein it in or how to have the shots serve the story rather than the other way around. Cinema is a visual medium, but it isn't only a visual medium, ya know?
The Cell was a bunch of beautiful nonsense.Snyder = white Tarsem
The Fall is an amazing movie and I'll fight anyone who disagrees. The Cell was a bunch of beautiful nonsense.
It’s pretty. The Fall is an amazing movie and I'll fight anyone who disagrees.
I thought the story was excellent too. But I don't know many who saw it. I've shown it to many friends over the years. The first time I saw it in the theater and it's the only movie I've ever seen in the theater where I saw several grown men crying. It’s pretty.
It's very well done. My only complaint is that they could have pushed it a bit more. But the opening scene is great.Haven’t seen this yet but was very impressed by the art direction.
You know my opinion! It's a layered story of a guy and a little girl in a hospital who were both injured in falls. He's telling her a story, but we see it through her imagination. So there are two competing stories and interpretations going on at the same time within his story, and there is the story we're watching of them in the hospital and the story he's telling her.Do I need to watch this again? My main memory of watching it at home was thinking it was almost incomprehensible.

Come play a game with me.
These would probably change on any given day. 90 and 00 were fantastic movie years and there were so many I could have picked that I'd have been happy with. The others were a little more sparse, but I didn't dig too deep in my search so there are probably some bangers I forgot about.
