Movies

This movie dropped and stars Mila Kunis. Trigger warning, it's a tough story about surviving a school shooting and gang rap, but very well told and accurately reflects the reality victims face.

watched Mr DooDoos Phone on Netflix last night ..Better than the reviews , Stephen King continues his rages against cell phones , now including the whole internet...good to see Donald Sutherland..great actor

I thought this was an unintentionally hilarious typo, but no, Mila's got killer bars in this. The part at the end where she squares off against Falcon and his friends and is rapping about spaghetti is so killer

Near Dark: looks amazing, Paxton and Henriksen bring it, the soundtrack absolutely rules, but the pacing is so uneven, the central romance is so baffling, and the denouement is so insipid, I couldn’t bring myself to love it.

Kathryn Bigelow directs the hell out of the thing, I just wish the script had had a few more drafts.

I really wanted to like Clerks 3, as I was a big fan of the first and enjoyed the second, but Smith really shit the bed with the ending of this film....jeepers.
I’ve really been off the Kevin Smith train for quite a while now. But Clerks holds a special place in my heart. The second one was also pretty great, and I love the short lived cartoon series. But Clerks 3 is definitely the worst of them all. Honestly I probably like it more than I should mostly for the nostalgia. But there are a lot of choices made that are baffling. And the ending, yeah, it just doesn’t land. I liked seeing the characters again, but the writing just isn’t as sharp as it used to be.

So, I'm donating platelets this evening, which I try to do every few weeks. If you don't know what that entails, I basically have to sit in a chair with a needle in each arm for 2.5 hours. They provide a TV with Netflix only. I'm looking for movie recommendations that are on Netflix. Probably looking for horror or art films, for lack of a better term.

Any recs are appreciated.

Not a recommendation but I used to do that in college for beer money (well, not donating but selling). I could do it twice a week and earn between $50 to $100 cash. I would usually just read the recent issue of Spin or Rolling Stone (or Blender or Maxim or FHM or Stuff, etc…) while listening to CDs on my discman. Having personal Netflix would be nice, they just had TVs mounted to the wall usually set to whatever movie was on FX or TNT that afternoon.
