Movies

I am thinking about going to see Bones And All tomorrow since I have the day off. Just hoping the
cannibalism
isn’t too graphic…

watch Your Name!!
I randomly watched this earlier this year. Its fantastic!
First time seeing it. It’s not as great as the first one but not nearly as bad as people made it out to be.
It was probably a little too long, though. There were a few iffy VFX scenes (mostly Wonder Woman running), the Mall scene felt flat (especially with no action scenes for another hour) with a lot of unnecessary moves and the golden suit seemed kinda wasted. Also, how much fuel can a fighter jet carry? Lol
I actually liked this better than the first. I didn't like the first at all though. I dunno, maybe i have weird tastes.

This is making me want to watch his entire filmography plus Twin Peaks. I just need to pick up Wild At Heart, Inland Empire and The Straight Story as those are the only ones i haven't seen yet.
Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet made me fall in love with Lynch. Straight Story is great and wonderfully charming and so very different than his other projects. A few months back I saw the restoration of Inland Empire and it was truly the most surreal experience I’ve ever had in a movie theater - and I still don’t know whether I liked it or not. Ditto on Wild at Heart. Will just have to suck it up and buy the Blu-ray since it seems that it’ll never be on streaming.

Okay I loved Bones And All. The graphic bloody stuff was not nearly as bad as I imagined it would be. The cinematography is beautiful, the acting fantastic, and the world of it all just super engaging. It’s a slow burn in some ways, but it never felt that long. The ending is also one of my favorite endings to a movie I’ve seen this year. I think so much of what I would say about the plot of the movie might sound dumb or ridiculous, but I don’t know…it never comes across that way. It always just worked for me.

And now I’m watching Call Me By Your Name cause I have never seen it.
