Movies

It's one of the great episodic movies, imo; you can just catch 5-10 minutes flipping channels and move on.

Ted Knight is also throwing some undeniable heat in this one. I also never got what anyone saw in Chevy Chase until I saw Caddyshack (I still barely get it).
Caddyshack, Fletch, and the National Lampoon Vacation films are S-Tier Chevy Chase.

Spies Like Us, The Three Amigos, and Funny Farm are pretty funny too.

I've been watching the Scream series this week. On 4 tonight. This is probably the only horror series that my wife will actually watch with me. I'm looking forward to rewatching V and VI this weekend. I remember liking V a lot the first time.

Edit: I hadn't watched 3 or 4 in years, and I forgot how great 4 is!

The annual Letterboxd HoopTober challenge has been posted ahead of its Sep. 15 start date. Here's what I've lined up for myself based on the challenge criteria. (I'll probably mention a few of these watches alongside my non-challenge watches in the upcoming N&G Halloween thread.)

4 is pretty good...and much better than 3 (and 2 IMO)

I watched The Wind Rises for the first time the other night. I had heard very polarizing reactions to this Miyazaki film. Some people seem to say it is his masterpiece, while others say it is so incredibly boring. I didn't know what to expect. I...actually sit somewhere in the middle-ish. I don't think it's boring, but it is a slower one. The animation is probably the best he's done so far. I mean, the scenery, the atmosphere, the emotion in the animation...it's all incredibly beautiful. But the story leaves just a little to be desired for me. I don't mind most of it. It's a purposefully different kind of film for him. But I wasn't completely all-in on everything that happens- or doesn't happen. But I really really appreciate the quiet in some scenes...like there's no dialogue in some spots and you can just exist in the scene with the sound design and animation and it just feels amazing. I am still counting down to see The Boy And The Heron, but I have no clue when it's actually going to release here.

The Menu - There's some douchebags in this movie, the food critic and her friend, the finance bros for example, but Nicholas Hoults character is very punchable.

I'm a huge fan of the Nicholas Hoult as a pathetic skeezebag cinematic universe!

The Menu, True History of the Kelly Gang, The Favourite (and Renfield and Mad Max, though more on the pathetic side than skeezy).
