Movies

Such high hopes for this and it was garbage
I had to pause and google what "Westview" because i didn't have a clue haha

The counsel intro was so cliché.

Strange makes a witty comment
*shield hits ground, bounces off wall and flies back, all in weird angles*

"This is Captain Carter... and sitting down now is Reed Richards."

Some back and forth *comment in the background*
"Oh, and this is our final member, Professor Charles Xavier"

That was clearly down for a geek reaction lol

There were some pretty cool death scenes, though.

You're at the point where the movies are not necessarily going to make sense if you haven't seen the Disney+ shows. For instance, The Marvels contains characters from Wandavision AND Ms. Marvel.

I knew Ms. Marvel was from her own show but it wasn't until last night looking up Westview that i found out tat the Rambeau character was from WandaVision. I couldn't remember the name so at first i thought they had recast Danvers BFF from the first movie lol

Then watch Hugo!

Once i finish this set then it's on to Hugo.

Let's talk about box office for a bit.

Disney's new animated movie Wish, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Disney animation, is projected to make 33 million over the 5 day Thanksgiving weekend against a 200 million dollar budget. This is shockingly bad.

Just this year, Indy 5 is projected to have lost 100 million, The Marvels is down 110 million from its budget, Haunted Mansion lost at least 40 million, and Elemental has barely broke even, and Ant Man 3 is considered a financial disappointment. None of them received great reviews. And that's not even counting the loses under 20th Century.

All I gotta say is about time. The studio has gotten too comfortable churning out mediocrity and shit in recent years. I would expect heads to roll very soon. I'm hoping the success of Barbeheimer makes the suits at these big studios realize that audiences want more crafted, varied films instead of the assembly line slop they seem to think we want.
I also think that one of the biggest problems with going to the movies is how expensive they are. I am not going to pay $15 per person to watch mediocre crap. And with kids, I would rather spend the ticket fee on the science center or the zoo.

And i thought Doctor Strange was bad lol Soooo much "humor". Felt half finished and Gorr The God Butcher was wasted in this.
