N&G Secret Santa

But they pay for you to go to school (if you don’t die of a stress infused heart attack first).

Right now they are the only way I can buy gifts for my best friend in the UK. Shipping is a bit expensive, but they are the cheapest shipping option. I feel bad about it, but I can't afford $50 to send one book over there. I've checked and the smallest priority box for the USPS is like $30.

Have you tried looking for small bookshops that have an online presence locally? Or even one of the British chains that are still big but not amazon big and are a local company, like Waterstones? Amazon definitely is convenient for buying for people oversees but there are usually other local options online if you look for them!

Im gonna keep it a buck and say that I'm your guy, @Captainfog . Cant really ship from Texas to over there w/o skipping a few meals, which means I cant do any personalized letter thing, so this'll be the announcement.
Was originally gonna get you the reissue of Nation Time by Joe McPhee, but resident music told me they ain't have it so I went w/ plan B and got you two other records.
Went over budget but the wait'll be worth it. One of them, which is a super dope UK rap album I found recently, already shipped out from Vinyl Dig. The other one is a jazz thing I found on your wantlist and it should be shipping soon. Havent heard much of it, but even though I'm not into jazz its def my type of music.
Unsure if both of them will hit you b4 Christmas, but let's hope.

Well something arrived in the post..... I haven't ordered any records so I presume it's from you. Thank you so much. I'm not going to open until Christmas!

To my person, i ordered for you on discogs, one seller agreed to wrap in Christmas paper and the other was a miserable scrooge and refused. If they haven't arrived yet then they definitely should soon.

I wonder if we should get Steve the Reindeer some ruffage and send him to the scrooge's yard!

MASSIVE thanks to my secret santa!

They have gone above and beyond here!

First up we have Tom Waits - Heart Attack And Vine, one of the few Wait's records which I haven't got in my collection. In a super weird coincidence, I actually set aside a few of his records last night to play today!!!

John Scofield - Hand Jive. Another fantastic BN80 release, this is one that I have had my eyes on and was reading about his time with Herbie Hancock in week as well!

Bill Evans - Jim Hall ‎– Undercurrent. Superb choice, really really fantastic pick! Im a big fan of both of these musicians and this will be my first MOFI pressing!! I had ordered one before (not the same record) but it was lost in the post, so this is just fantastic!

A christmas card and stack of record related stickers to add to the collection!

Amazing set and super happy, what a great start to Christmas! Thanks again Secret Santa (I know who they are, I will let them stand up!)

Glad they got to you safely.

I was originally going to throw in my favorite album 801 - Live, but after cleaning and play testing it wasn't up to par. So I added Undercurrent instead. It was on my wall since i liked the cover more than the music, but thought you'd put it to better use.

I figured some of those stickers don't get seen too often in the UK...since i know Plaid Room doesn't ship there.

It was a superb pick buddy, thanks again!

100% I was looking through them and realised that most (maybe all?) dont even exist in the UK as far as I am aware!

My girlfriend loved the card as well! Win Win Win!
