Needles & Grooves AoTM /// Vol. 1 - July 2019 Lou Reed - The Blue Mask

I’m still debating whether to get the speakers corner one (which will lead to at least 4 others at pure pleasure) or just buy the standard which is supposed to be really good and @Mr Moore recommended...

I have both and will give both a listen to tell you what I say. I don't remember the standard being bad though, just that when I had the chance to grab the Speakers Corner one, I upgraded. I did the same with Patti Smith's Horses.

Which is one of the other 4 that is currently in my basket at pure pleasure...

it can be my reward for doing so much work here

depending on if i like it, i will listen to it later today

Would love to hear your perspective on Transformer. It’s a great pop album, Mick Ronson and Bowie do a great job producing and arranging it and Lou brought fringe groups to wider consciousness through these songs. Perfect Day is about heroin btw

So by that first verse am I to believe that he drank sangria in the park, went to the movies, and fed animals at the zoo all on H? I thought people on heroin didn't do much of anything.

You must have never read any Burroughs!

I thought perfect day was about a day with his fiancee though.

Edit: maybe clearer to say that they aren't always on the nod. Also s/o to Jim Carroll.
