Needles & Grooves AoTM /// Vol. 3 - September 2019 /// Nicole Atkins - Goodnight, Rhonda Lee

if its supposed to mean its dream pop (which we already know its pop rock/pop singer-songwriter so its a little difficult there), that means its most likely weyes blood or julia holter

I listened to Weyes Blood last night for the first time and it was great. Julia Holter I've never heard of.

The hints are gifs so they are context-less. Jekyll Hyde one could have to do with time period (1940's, which Chip and Dale were also created), drinking, mirrors, jekyll/hyde, Spencer Tracy, etc etc.

Chip and Dale could be the cartoon, sleeping, dreaming, sleepwalking, all sorts of things.

Occam's Razor (which doesn't really apply here since @Teeeee is playing with us to some degree I'm sure) would point to the first one being Jekyll/Hyde or drinking, and the second one with sleepwalking and dreaming, but feel free to use the above to think outside the box and brainstorm.

I already have Julia Holter and hope Nathan wins a copy of this as
a) it’s very good and
b) it will let me get Carly Rae instead

I have a copy of this album too, so I would have chosen to give my copy to you because you’re my favourite Murfocakes 😉

But then you don’t live in America. So I would have ended up choosing Darin Boogie Star or Phaneronic to get my copy as I still have mini crushes on them 😂🤷‍♂️🙈

I really hate to throw out another guess, but I came across this today in my search and I had to post it:

Nicole Atkins - Goodnight Rhonda Lee

Female Artist
Artist born in USA
Artist has never performed with Beyoncé
Artist's 4th album
Readily available on vinyl
Genre is pop-rock/pop-singer/songwriter, not just "straight up singer songwriter". Not a choreographer. Not stereotypical pop. (this might be too far on the country/folk line, however)
Artist did not perform at Lilith Fair
Album is from this decade (2010-now)
The artist is still alive.
Jekyll/Hyde gif - song called "A Little Crazy"/ album is about personal demons/ quitting drinking
Sleepwalking gif - song called "Sleepwalking"
Both of those were from sources in the 1940's and she certainly exhibits that kind of throwback aesthetic with comparisons to Roy Orbison
