Needles & Grooves Fantasy Hockey League

My main suggestion was making free agency go through waivers, at least for a month or so. This way, whoever picks last can get first dibs at the overlooked gems that crop up after a week or two. In the spirit of keeping it fair for those that have less time, this also doesn't reward getting up early to snipe those players.

EDIT: but make waivers short, like 24 hrs?... give enough time for people to see and take a player but don't make it too painful when we need to make quick roster changes because of injuries.
K, I think I've got this set now. You mean all un-rostered players should be on waivers at all times? These are my waiver options:

Continuous: All un-rostered players are on waivers at all times. Waiver claims are processed on fixed days of the week as defined by the commissioner. When a player is dropped, he must remain on waivers for a set number of days before he can be claimed; that number of days is indicated by the Waiver Time setting.

Standard: All dropped players go onto waivers for a period of time specified by the Waiver Time parameter, and if unclaimed become free agents.

None: Players not subject to the league's waiver rules remain free agents throughout the week. Players must be added to a roster by 11:59 PM, PT Sunday to be eligible for the current game week.

I like option 2

I like 1. Every day at noon can be the waiver claim processing time. This gives enough time for everyone to have a shot, with those that have the highest waiver pick having priority (i.e. those drafting late at first, until they make a claim).

#2 is like last year. It's great for dropped players, but the early birds got all the best undrafted players during the first few weeks.

Good point. #1 is probably the most fair.

Yeah, I remember it was a little longer than I had anticipated from the mock drafts (probably because I never completely finish the last rounds of the mock drafts, LOL).
I think if I'm not mistaken, the real draft allows for 1 min for each team selection vs. 30 sec for the mock draft 🤔

My team is... ok? I got what I wanted out of the first few rounds, except for Varlamov who went way earlier than expected. I thought he'd still be there on my #3/4, but Shesterkin (I'll need to figure out how to spell that since he's on my team) was a good fallback. Good on whoever got Petry - that also went way early right before I was going to take him. But several great players also fell to me, so I'm overall pleased.

Is that the actual schedule? We'll see about "crushing".... maybe if you're missing many players, but in case you didn't know there are a few IR and IR+ slots (IR is for players on official league IR and IR+ for players on IR, DTD or O) - so you can burry some of your injured players and pick a few replacements. Not always ideal, but it gives you options.
