I've seen this - New Jersey is also on a slight down curve IIRC. But because of its sheer numbers, NYC is basically driving the curve of the entire country down by itself, giving the impression of a plateau that is in fact not there at all.
Exactly. When the data shows just the United States, it shows we have flattened the curve. It's very misleading.
All the progress in New York is being offset by increase spread starting in the rest of the country. And the flattening of the curve is what is driving many of the Red states to reopen.
