Neverending Covid-19 Coronavirus

I'm just a few days into quarantine with my kids and The Shining is starting to make more and more sense :)

If you really feel she had covid, just try to stay away from anyone for 14 days. That way if you're an asymptomatic carrier you have less risk of transmitting. I've had a summer cold before any cases were detected here. But I've been very paranoid anyway. I don't have the covid symptoms of fever and dry cough. Runny nose isn't covid. But it still lingers in your head.

Keep your distance in the queue. 6 ft. between each other. And perhaps take a glove to handle the voting machines. Dispose of the gloves once you're done voting and wash your hands immediately afterwards.

My wife's employer closed the doors today. She works at a Fleet Feet where she fits people for shoes. I am mostly relieved because that is a high risk situation. They had brisk business yesterday, too, so people were not afraid to get out and buy some shoes. The employers are closing out of good conscience and are still paying employees through the end of the month and are working on some online solutions and other potential opportunities to keep making income.

I was really impressed they would operate out of such good conscience. She said the owner was pretty tearful and said they may lose everything but wanted to try to take care of employees first and foremost.
 
I just found out that my brother in law has the symptoms. I'm trying not to freak out. But my dad is extremely extremely high risk. We all live in the same area. My parents see my bro-in-law often (cause of the grandkids). I hope they all quarantined themselves in time for my dad to not have been exposed.

I know this has been serious all along. It just hits a bit harder when it gets personal.
 
Someone at my workplace self quarantined due to her husband showing symptoms as of Friday. Got an email over the weekend that we would have a meeting first thing Monday morning about what we were going to be doing as a company to handle this situation. Nothing, that's what were doing. Office Boss thinks this virus is overhyped/media (how it was actually sent out in an email this morning complaining that we have to cancel our social hour, italicized and all) . I love being in a building with self absorbed ass hats who get all of their information from facebook and one news source. Hope everyone stays safe out there, we are surrounded by idiots.

I'm sorry to hear this. And I'm hearing the same thing all over Social Media and other forums. Layoffs, furloughs and mandatory unpaid leave are popping are happening left and right.

Trump is currently trying to get a $850 Billion stimulus tax passed. But it does to little for the working class and almost everything for corporations. Such as the a temporary payroll tax holiday.

I used to order spirits online, but VA made it illegal a couple years back.

Honestly, UberEats workers should have no problem following social distancing protocols while doing food delivery. Come in, pick up the bag on the counter, drop off the bag at the door. They never have to interact.

In theory, definitely agree. But in practice, we all know that isn't 100% followed.

I don't know. I just don't feel like restaurant delivery is essential. And we should be moving towards only essential businesses staying open. But then - what is essential? Lol

I think it's important because a) it reduces load on grocery stores, b) it's helpful for people who don't know how to cook, and c) it keeps local restaurants from bleeding money during a shutdown and going bankrupt, which is a serious concern.
