I missed a few pages of convo. ¿What did you end up doing?Hypothetical: you, your pregnant asthmatic wife*, and your teenage stepdaughter are scheduled to fly to Paris in two weeks, then go to Germany, where you will split up with the teen so she can see her dad for two weeks while you tour around France & Belgium.
How bad would Coronavirus news developments need to get in order for you to decide to cancel this expensive and completely nonrefundable trip? What’s your threshold?
*FWIW as of Thursday the OB’s professional medical opinion was “Eh. It’s probably fine, you’re not going to run into it.” The first presumptive positive patient in the county turned up at that OB’s hospital the following day.
If you really feel she had covid, just try to stay away from anyone for 14 days. That way if you're an asymptomatic carrier you have less risk of transmitting. I've had a summer cold before any cases were detected here. But I've been very paranoid anyway. I don't have the covid symptoms of fever and dry cough. Runny nose isn't covid. But it still lingers in your head.I've been trying to keep up with this but I admit I might have missed the discussion. Does anyone think they already had this? My wife was really sick a month ago. No real "cold" symptoms, just a fever, cough, and shortness of breath. She never takes more than a day off work, and was out three days and stayed in bed for the three days and the weekend. I guess we'll never know, but I'm thinking maybe she had it already.
Keep your distance in the queue. 6 ft. between each other. And perhaps take a glove to handle the voting machines. Dispose of the gloves once you're done voting and wash your hands immediately afterwards.Guess my ass is going to the polls tomorrow. Luckily my precinct is small and there's hardly ever anyone there.
Right there with you. Just a normal cold makes you think you've been in Chernobyl for a day.I think I may have possibly had it. I had symptoms of a stomach flu early last week, mucus cough with phlegm and then Thursday and Friday feverish conditions. My temperature never went above 100 but I was feeling very warm. I was taking cold and cough medicine and pepto bismol and now I feel fine. I have no idea if I did have it or not, but I’m taking precautions to not expose myself to anyone for at least another week. It may not have been the Coronavirus because my girlfriend would have definitely caught it from me and she’s been fine the whole time. So who knows. But it definitely was not the best time to get sick. My anxiety was not a fan.
¡Great time to learn how to make bathtub gin!has anyone ever ordered alcohol online? I joined one of those monthly wine clubs way back in 2015 and had to get it shipped to my work because you need to sign for it in person. I am home all the time so I could do it now. I ended up cancelling the club only after a month because it was a hassle to arrange a date for it to get delivered conveniently for me at work.
I have a good stock right now. But I'm just thinking because liquor cannot be sold in grocery stores in VT (only beer and wine) if I wanted to buy something else I'd have to get it delivered.
I could see a lot of local places doing that here. I may take them up on that offer.I have ordered cases of wine many times as I too was part of wine club, but mine was quarterly. I've also ordered craft beer on the fly where the microbrewery delivers it right at your door for a minimum fee.![]()
It's day two and I'm already talking to the walls. Yesterday afternoon, the kids had a water gun war. Today, I'm considering joining into the water gun war...I'm just a few days into quarantine with my kids and The Shining is starting to make more and more sense

I'm terribly sorry. I got laid off a few weeks ago, but for them to get laid off right when tensions are really rising has to feel like a real kick in the gut.My best friend and my brother in law were both laid off this morning from their jobs. What a shitty time this is.

They closed all of the IKEAs in Northern California EXCEPT for our store ... Hopefully ours shuts down soon. I'm on my way into work now.

I'm sorry to hear this. And I'm hearing the same thing all over Social Media and other forums. Layoffs, furloughs and mandatory unpaid leave are popping are happening left and right.

More than half of American jobs are at risk because of coronavirus
It's not just jobs in travel and tourism at risk from the coronavirus crisis. It's thousands of small businesses, and their employees pay, that are at risk. And that's a blow that could take years for the economy to recover from.www.cnn.com
These are not good times.
Trump is currently trying to get a $850 Billion stimulus tax passed. But it does to little for the working class and almost everything for corporations. Such as the a temporary payroll tax holiday.
It is crazy to me, CRAZY, that UberEats and all similar services are still operating. There is no need to put those drivers at unnecessary risk for delivery fast food french fries. Here even Burger King and McDonald's drive-in are closed. Uber Eats are still working but with a very limited number of restaurants.

In theory, definitely agree. But in practice, we all know that isn't 100% followed.I used to order spirits online, but VA made it illegal a couple years back.
Honestly, UberEats workers should have no problem following social distancing protocols while doing food delivery. Come in, pick up the bag on the counter, drop off the bag at the door. They never have to interact.

I don't know. I just don't feel like restaurant delivery is essential. And we should be moving towards only essential businesses staying open. But then - what is essential? Lol
