Someone explain to me why I didn't preorder the new Sunny War? I guess I'll just blame it on trying to cut back and carry on. Really like it and about half way through my first listen. Have to check out this Chris Pierce dude, anyone familiar (@Twentytwo ) and can recommend a good starting point?

I have mentioned that I am dumb, right?
Fatastic Negrito is also solid as expected.
Shania Twain, halfway through is a slog. Boring nondescript pop music. She should get back with Mutt. Still wasn't my jam but was at least diverting.

Worst album of '23 as of now. I'm sure there will be worse.

Despite the awful cover, the James Brandon Lewis will be getting lots of time from me this year. Probably the most interesting listen so far this year.

He's so impressive. He's got another couple of records at least coming out this year (a quartet and a quintet one), plus he's been in the studio recently with the Messthetics (Fugazi bassist and drummer plus guitarist) who are on this record so there could be even more. On top of that, he's a nice guy too. Hope this album lifts his profile even more.

Hey look ma, I was in the wrong thread the whole time!

This one is not that bad. It sounds very new-agey and not as droney as I would hope. I'm not really a huge fan of either Loscil or Lawrence English because they don't deal in "melodic ambient" like some contemporaries. Although I have seen Loscil open for A Winged Victory For The Sullen back in 2015.

So far I've only checked out things I didn't know were coming out today :ROFLMAO:

Murs dropped his 3rd EP of the year already - each a collaboration with a different producer. I'm digging this release flow for him.

Halfway through the new Kweku Collins, but I'm running heavy machinery at work right now so music isn't an option. Will get back to it in an hour or so.

I didn't either, but I really like what I have heard from it. Planning on going to see her in store at Grimey's next week if all goes to plan. I have a friend who has been singing her praises for a while, but I have never given her a chance until this new album.

I believe he is her partner but I could be wrong. They have a project together called War & Pierce.
