I love the title of the Elle King album by the way.
I think you tagged me in regards to JD Clayton, just recently listened to him recently. Really like what I have heard so far. Sadly no vinyl yet.

Big update in the past two weeks. Heating up!

🔥
  • James Brandon Lewis - Eye of I [might be my AotY right now]
  • Tujiko Noriko - Crépuscule I & II
  • 파란노을 Parannoul - After the Magic [the first BNM of the year, and I agree. Deserving]
  • RAYE - My 21st Century Blues [SLAPS. I usually don't go to alt-pop as my preferred subgenre, but I dig this debut. Thanks a million, @nolalady]
👍
  • Ὁπλίτης - Ψευδομένη [pretty intense. Even more impressive that it's entirely a solo effort]
  • Lil Yachty - Let's Start Here. [yeah, it's good. It's being raved everywhere here and on the interwebs outside of P4K. I'm not sure it resonates as deeply with me, yet still came as a total shock to me in enjoyment. Yachty's autotuned voice fits better in this context, but still not ideal]
  • Ava Max - Diamonds & Dancefloors [it's not quite her Future Nostalgia moment like it was for Dua Lipa, yet more impressive than I thought it'd be. Still some tracks with dated production like her debut]
  • M(h)aol - Attachment Styles [LGBT+ Dry Cleaning, wouldn't you say?]
  • Margo Price - Strays
  • Ruhail Qaisar - Fatima
  • Raül Refree - el espacio entre
  • Samia - Honey ["Breathing Song" is an emotionally tough one to listen to]
  • Stella Kola - Stella Kola
  • Jonah Yano - portrait of a dog
  • Young Fathers - Heavy Heavy [very uplifting...will require multiple revisits]
🤷‍♂️
  • Dryad - The Abyssal Plain
  • Fucked Up - One Day
  • Kimbra - A Reckoning
  • Elle King - Come Get Your Wife
  • SG Lewis - AudioLust & HigherLove [this lacks the humor of last year's effort]
  • Loscil, Lawrence English - Colours of Air
  • Panda Rosa - Burned Car Highway Light Volcanic
  • Sam Smith - Gloria [I don't want to make it seem like this isn't worth checking out. Sam is a very talented vocalist. I do think that a few of the production choices doesn't do them justice, and "Unholy" tries to be this epic showstopper but ultimately doesn't really hit the spot. "Gimme" is terrible tho]
  • The WAEVE - The WAEVE
  • Vylet Pony - Carousel (An Examination of the Shadow, Creekflow, and its Life as an Afterthought) [some fun production choices, although the dubstep sections are tacky]
👎

None, surprisingly.
🤮
  • Måneskin - RUSH! [I felt gross just listening to "BLA BLA BLA"]
  • Shania Twain - Queen of Me [the usage of "litty" in the opening number was enough to make me regurgitate the Pad Thai I had just hours prior]
