New Music Friday!

It's a little bit less good than Loner and Superstar after one listen. Much more introspective but definitely a grower. Her trajectory with this albums reminds me of Torres, or maybe it's just because they're both featured sitting on a chair in the center of of the album artwork.

A few songs sound promising that would be cool to hear them more polished in the studio. Definitely a decent live album.
It's not the fun and quirky Caroline Rose that we have come to know but instead it's a much more intimate, intensely raw, and emotional project, with very personal and poignant lyrics. This is her best album to date!

yeah I listened to this yesterday, and it’s a huge shift from their last two. I enjoyed Loner so much because of how fun it was. This isn’t that. But it’s so much denser. And ultimately it’s a nice bold move that opens up for more possibilities in the future.

Still digesting the new Lana Del Rey, but honestly it sounds like the sort of...culmination of her last couple of records. She's been getting increasingly looser and free-associative and this is like the peak of that. The music is very much a continuation of the last few, with sparse, classical-esque piano ballads...until it adds in the beats towards the end. I don't know what that means in the larger context of the album, but it feels intentional because a lot of this album is intentional. It's peeling back more layers on who she is, and commenting on her past work, while also being her most sprawling album to date. I think there's a lot more to grasp here that I haven't even reached yet, but I think it's pretty fun to have an album like this existing right now. She's clearly just doing whatever she wants, and you can feel that kind of relaxed, all-in attitude throughout this album - especially in its run time. It's hard to say whether or not the whole thing works yet, but I do admire what she pulled off. And I have a lot of fun listening to it in one go and just feeling it.

I quite enjoyed that Lankum album.

a surprise to no one, the new Mark De Clive-Lowe is really good.

I'm 3 listens deep into the Angel Bat Dawid and I'm not sure I know what the fuck is going on. It is for sure very interesting but makes little sense to me.
I thought the new Lankum was excellent, well worth a listen or two.

I had no idea what to expect with Angel Bat David, but loved what I heard, superb record!

Another one that I'm keeping an eye on Mystic 100's - On a Micro Diet.

I'd lost track of Milk Music, but tomorrow they're back for the first time since 2017 as Mystic's 100's. Grunge-y/Garage-y/psychedelic/I might need Bluecloud777 to come up with a better genre name. The advance single clocks in at 10:02, so possibly a slightly different vibe than the Milk Music albums.
