RBF ALERT
The fourth album here Fawn/Brute by Katie Gately dropped yesterday on 3/31, and it was written during and after her pregnancy in 2021. This is my first experience with Gately, and I'm shocked I've never heard of her before now. She is also a producer who has worked with Björk, Zola Jesus, and Serpentwithfeet. Her fourth LP here is experimental pop and electronica, dance pop, and, yes, I would even say art pop Upon a few initial listens, this is definitely an overall standout for me so far this year.
Boygenius is as perfect as I was expecting.
Yup this boygenius album is GOOD. I've listened to "Not Strong Enough" a few times prior to release and it still is a jam within the album. Lucy's part in the last minute is
When I first listened to the album yesterday I felt slightly underwhelmed...I felt wanting more but after re-listening to it today with my girlfriend it finally clicked, especially lyrically! True Blue is currently my favourite track on "the record"I love the new Boygenius, but both times I’ve listened so far I feel it ends just a little too soon. I’m just enjoying it all so much.
Yup True Blue is excellent. Feels weird liking the advance singles the most so far but that’s how it is.
