New Music Friday!

@avecigrec @Nee Lewman

I'm gonna go ahead an assume it's Disintegration. If it isn't, then change that ASAP. You will love Disintegration if you enjoyed the new one. But also, being a human who enjoys music, you should love Disintegration.

Here are some non-Disintegration The Cure tracks you should pop in a playlist and check out:

Push
A Forest
Why Can't I Be You
Just Like Heaven
Burn
Close to Me
A Night Like This
The Last Day of Summer
Boys Don't Cry
A Letter To Elise
The Caterpillar
One Hundred Years
This Is A Lie
End
From The Edge of The Deep Green Sea
10:15 Saturday Night
Let's Go To Bed

OK, I'll stop there. There are like 30 more you should also add but these immediately come to mind.

Push is low-key the best Cure song imo

Bloodflowers
Bloodflowers is my favorite of the post-Wish era albums, so now I'm even more excited for you to listen to Disintegration.

I know you listen to a shitton of music based on your New Music Friday posts, so if you like the new album and Bloodflowers might I encourage you to do some sort of ritual, be fully present, etc before you put on Disintegration. You might already know it's often on top albums of ever lists. Point is, let it envelope you. Better yet, get the vinyl! Chances of you enjoying it are ♾️

Thanks for the reminder on FFD!

Also, did not know about this one before tonight, or it would have been top of my list:

Oh man, this is sublime.

Definitely on a different vibe than Emahoy's recordings but the arrangements are lovingly rendered with great care and the performances really do highlight just how amazing the compositions themselves are. The only complaint I have is that I wish they'd pulled back on the volume of the applause a bit when they were mastering this; it's not particularly abrasive or anything, but it feels about a half step off of perfect.

Didn't have much chance to look at releases this week, here's something I'd already started from email alerts:

Radar List, 8th November 2024
  • Rafael Anton IrisarriFAÇADISMS (Ambient, Drone, Experimental Electronic)
  • Zane TrowLandscape (Ambient, Drone, Electronic, Field Recordings)

Nothing new today immediately pops out to me. Time to play some catchup and get some extra listens on recent releases that I've enjoyed (or loved) a couple times through!

Here's looking at you Wild Pink, Fashion Club, Porridge Radio, Caroline Says, ELUCID, Public Service Broadcasting, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Delachute, The Cure, deary, Trace Mountains, Haley Heynderickx, etc
