New Music Friday!

I got to listen to two new albums today and loved them both, I don’t see either mentioned.

This is some cool Afro jazz vibraphone music:

I believe this is what the kids call indie pop:

Is that actual new music from Mulatu?

(did you ever see Broken Flowers with Bill Murray? he gets a CDR from his neighbor (Jeffrey Wright) to soundtrack a road trip, and it's all Mulatu classics - and ends up being the soundtrack to the film)

I have no idea? It’s the album of the week on Qobuz so I assumed it was. Yes and I vaguely remember that.

New Fazerdaze album sounds like a mix of Hazel English and Yumi Zouma

Thanks for the reminder! I knew there was an album I needed to check out today. Interesting sound hybrid since I think of them as low-key shoegazers. But I like both Yumi and Hazel, so I'm looking forward. I woulda seen Fazerdaze play last night (opening for Pond) if I didn't need to conserve my energy and ears for Slowdive tonight.

An album that can be described as “Blake Shelton’s wife puts out a boring country pop album about how much she loves him” would be erased from my memory a second after I read that description. I hate that an artist as interesting as Gwen Stefani would release that album. I’m not going to pretend all of Gwen’s albums have been masterpieces but she has never been boring, and this album is just so boring. I can respect a bad album that’s atleast interestingly bad, but being boring is the ultimate music sin to me
