New Music Friday!

The new Shamir starts out absolutely shit hot but falters in its momentum a few songs in. The first 3 songs had me expecting Great+ but by the end of my first listen, the album dropped down to Good+.

The Crystal Murray EP was quite enjoyable, as was were Boulevards and Kevin Hearn - I'd say they all settled into the lower end of Great for me.

The new Orville Peck songs are fantastic - his new album is absolutely my most anticipated for April!

I decided to save DLO3 for later today when I can crank it, so Big Thief and Tegan and Sara are my most likely next ups.

Sorry but who's DL03?

I decided to listen to Spoon next instead of Cult of Luna. I'm enjoying the hell out of this. Spoon is one of those bands I've always been pretty sure I'd like, but always put off listening to. I even own a couple of their records I found for good prices, and I've never spun them. Might be time to change that!

I should have added a disclaimer that all of Big Thief's releases are just okay to me, but I LOVE Adrianne's solo albums. This new album is definitely doing to be my favorite of the Big Thief discography, though. I just need to give it some more time to soak it in :)
I like their first two albums best, because they are more "rock-oriented" if that makese sense. Then Two Hands and UFOF almost feel like Adrianne solo albums. This new one seems to be a hybrid of both.

Interesting, I'm thinking I've only listened to their first releases now that I'm looking at album covers and titles. I'm definitely planning on doing a discography run through for them, so I'm very interested in Two Hand and UFOF based on this!

My first Spoon album as well. Minus the owning a couple of their records part we seem to be on the same page with this one!
